Trails are still in early season conditions. Groomer is getting out where possible and volunteers are doing what we can to get the trails in shape. Most areas have been cleared and the groomer can now reach the majority of our trails. However, due to the low trees and not enough volunteers this weekend we haven’t been able to clear everything for the groomer. Currently the groomer can’t get up Carmel yet or over 745. So until we can get the groomer there, both those sections of trail are closed. Volunteers continue to do what they can, but with all the trees that were down, we can always use more help. So if you are unhappy with those sections of trails being closed, feel free to get out there and help get them cleared enough so the groomer can get through.
Thanks again to all those that helped this weekend. Some were local, some came from out of state and all the help is appreciated and greatly needed! To give some perspective, it took 5 of us all day to get the Caryl brook trail cleared and it had already had a lot done to it during the week and still could use some additional trimming here and there. We had a few more groups out hitting various areas and they too ran into similar issues.
