Trails are in very rough shape. There are some decent spots, but lots of ugly stuff here and there. I did a loop Friday, cutting out some trees during the ride and the first part of the loop was rough, but not awful. The 2nd (much shorter part – from Dot’s back home) should have been skipped. I would have been better going back the way I came.
Lots of open water bars, lots of ice, lots of branches here and there, dirt and rocks. Riding is still not recommended. Hopefully the snow that’s coming down now stays snow and we get close to the 6″ I’ve seen forecast. And hopefully the storm is dried out when the temps rise. Even with some ice/rain, 6″ will make a difference.
If you do go out in the near future, expect additional debris in the trail. Please take a few minutes to clear some off the trail. The tree in the photo was across the trail and I was able to simply grab an end and move it off the trail. Every little bit helps and will only speed up the process of getting the trails in shape as the groomer won’t need to stop and move things out of the way and can keep grooming.
