Stay tuned for updates…

We had a good season, a great landowner dinner and are getting ready for projects. Stay tuned and we will post when we need some help for the projects. And don’t forget monthly meetings are the 2nd Thursday each month at the groomer garage. All members are welcome and encouraged to join us!

Trail Update 1/17/2021

Trail Update 1/17/2021

The weather the past couple of days has been great and left us with at least a foot of new snow. Seems to be quite a bit more up higher. This has left our trails in much better shape. We’ve been out grooming and will continue to get all our trails groom as soon as we can. Once groomed, trails should be in great condition for the most part. There are still a few wet areas but most sections of trails have a really good cover now.

Trails closed

Trails are closed until we get more snow. This storm was not good for the snow we had. Bare in many spots. Water bars will all be open and the storm isn’t over yet, temps are around 50 degrees still. Cold temps return soon so hopefully snow will too! It’s very early still, lots of the season left!

Trail Closures

Trail Closures

We’ve updated our trail map online. The majority of our trails are now closed and the only riding available is in the higher terrain of the National forest in the Michigan area. Base is firm and there are some bare spots. Dot recommends studs if you do venture out.

Still a month left, so hope for snow!

Weekend Trail Report

After assessing some of our trails, we’ve updated the trail conditions on the VAST site and have made some closures. We’ve closed things north of town towards Rochester and Bethel. Too much snow was lost and there’s a lot of bare spots in fields. You can still get to Barnard and you can currently get to services although there is limited snow in some of these areas and on 100S the warning indicates where you will be on a plowed section of road for a while. Best riding is in the National Forest in the Michigan area (74/73/75/745) and towards Chittenden. That was just about all groomed up last night and should be finished up tonight. As always, ride with caution.

Riding remains decent

Riding remains decent

While the weather this week was not ideal, riding remains good at higher elevations. Groomer is out this evening working on getting things in shape. Valley is going to have variable conditions at lower elevations. As always, ride with caution.

Trail update Sunday 2/23

Trail update Sunday 2/23

Trails are in good shape. Some areas that had heavy traffic will be more bumped up then others. Corey and Bryon got out and groomed quite a bit last night out towards Barnard and to Ted Green Ford Bridge. Had a nice ride on our trails looping into Chittenden and trails were all in good shape. Passed the Chittenden groomer on their way towards bloodroot. Have fun out there and ride right, ride safe!

Sunday Update 1/19/20

Sunday Update 1/19/20

We did not get the amount of snow we were hoping for, but we did get some. Enough that we did get out grooming a little today. We started to fill in some water bars and smooth out what we could, but we still need more snow and water bars to freeze up solid which hopefully they will tonight and the next couple of days and even more importantly stay that way! We got some trees that had been cut previously pushed off the trails and put up some new signs as well at RD10 and RD11. If you do go out and ride, use caution. Even where we groomed, water bars are still open and we’re still looking at very early conditions, more like what we’d typically see in December. Think snow and ride safe!

Trails are open

Trails are open

We have just enough snow to open the trails. We should be much better off after this upcoming storm. If you ride today, use caution. There are still many hazards and open water bars. We’ll evaluate if we can groom tomorrow after we see what the storm brings us.
