Trails are closed

Sad to post this as things looked so great just a few days ago. With the heavy rain and warm temps today, we’re going to close our trails until things freeze up again and we are able to check them out. If we lost too much snow in the valley, we may need to keep some sections closed. We’ll be updating as soon as we can assess, so please check back before riding.

Trails have been groomed

The majority of our trails have been groomed since Sunday’s storm and are in good shape. Wednesday’s weather doesn’t look ideal, but shouldn’t impact things too much. We’ll report on conditions following the weather.

Heading through Mayo Meadow

Looking Good! But some bad…

The good! The trails! They are shaping up and with the snow we have coming Sunday, we’ll be in great shape. The bad? The rider who decided to ride right through at least two stakes we had up in the field across from the clear. The stop ahead sign and another stake we’re snapped in half and the tracks of a sled go right through it. Clearly intentionally (or the person who did it has no business being on the trail). These are all put up by volunteers and take a lot of time and destroying them or not abiding by them, riding on the marked trail only damage snowmobiling as a whole. Please respect our landowners and signs and stay on the trail.

FYI folks…WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT… * WHAT…HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS GREATER THAN 6 INCHES POSSIBLE. * WHERE…ALL OF VERMONT AND NORTHERN NEW YORK. * WHEN…FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

Latest Trail Update

Our trails are open and conditions have been improving. We have been out grooming and have groomed most of our trails. More snow is expected later this week so conditions should continue to improve. Ride with caution as we are still looking at early season conditions with open water bars and thin spots in areas.

Club meeting tonight at the Clear @ 7 PM as they are regularly scheduled the 2nd Thursday of each month. May vary in the summer months. With the snow we’ve gotten the last couple of days, riding is possible. The water bars are rough and not recommended for inexperienced riders. As always, please ONLY ride where marked and follow the rules when we alert you the trails are closed. This is for everyone’s safety and respect for our landowner’s.

Trails Remain Closed

Our trail system is closed. There is not enough snow. We’ve had reports of some riding. Please do not go out as this will only jeopardize our trails. We need a decent storm to get us back in business again. We’ll update the site once things change.

Trails are Closed!

Our trails are closed and will not open until December 16th and only if we have enough snow (which is looking good!).  Riding before the trails open only jeopardize our trails.  Thanks for respecting our landowners!

At that time, we will likely need help clearing trails of trees that have come down during this recent storm.

Landowners Dinner!

Everyone should have received an invitation by now.  This is a reminder to RSVP by tomorrow for the land owner dinner if you will be attending.  You can email us at info@tweedvalleytravelers.com to RSVP.

Dinner is next weekend, Saturday April 28th.  Happy hour starts at 5:30 and dinner buffet at 6pm.

Dinner is $15/adults and $6/child age 12 and under.  There will be prices raffled off throughout the evening.

Hope to see you there!

Our Trails are closed

There was a little riding left earlier this week, but it has come time to close the trails.  It was a mixed season with some great riding at times.  Hope everyone enjoyed it!

If you have time to volunteer, we can always use help when we get around to taking down the stakes.  There’s a LOT of them!
